A Little About Me

I am currently a Professor at Universidad de Talca, Talca, Chile, Faculty of Economic and Business. I teach students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs such as: Business Management, Master in Economics, and Ph.D in  Economics.

In 2016 I completed my Ph.D in Regional Science at Cornell University. My thesis is entitled "Three Essays in Simulation-Based Econometric for Models with Spatial Heterogeneity" and my dissertation committee was composed of the following Professors:

  • Kieran Donaghy.
  • Ricardo Daziano.
  • Nancy Brooks.

I was previously research assistant for the Lead Economist William F. Maloney in the World Bank's development economic research group. I spent a great  year in Washington D.C.

I did my Master degree in Regional Science at the Universidad Católica del Norte in Chile.  My research interests include applied econometrics, simulation-based econometrics, health economics, subjective well-being, regional economics, and computational methods and software development.

Outside of my academic interests, I like to play the guitar and video games and obviously... drink wine.

Here I have posted some  photos of what Cornell University and Ithaca look like in different seasons!
